Nuvei was taken private in November 2024 in a transaction led by Advent International, a US private equity firm, so control sits in the US. But the Canadian shareholders who rolled over hold more of the equity between them: founder-CEO Philip Fayer at roughly 24%, Novacap at about 18% and the Caisse de depot et placement du Quebec at about 12%, with Fayer still leading the company from Montreal.
