Molson, founded in Montreal in 1786 and Canada's oldest brewery, merged with Colorado's Coors in 2005 as a genuine merger rather than a takeover. The combined company is US-incorporated and primarily listed on the NYSE (TAP), while Molson Coors Canada trades on the TSX (TPX.B), and the Molson and Coors families both retain governance rights through a dual-class structure. Calling it either Canadian or American would misrepresent how it was deliberately built.
