Founded 1961 and run from 1991 by Penny Shuster and Gianni Lamanuzzi, now wholly owned by an investor group led by Champlain Financial Corporation, a Canadian firm, with Nicholas Martire as CEO. The waterproof boots are still made in the company's own Montreal factory and hand-cut; the European collection is made in Italy — so Canadian-made is true of part of the range, not all of it.
